S.A.V.E. is offering two Scholarships for high school seniors in the amount of $1,000 each who meet the following criteria:
• Must be a graduating senior in Northwest Ohio or Southeast Michigan. • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university for 2025 • Has an educational plan to major in an environmental studies program, an environmental science program, or any course of study in which the environment and care for Earth could play an integral part. • Must complete and submit the application and original essay by the April 14 deadline. • Applications will be accepted between February 3 and April 14, 2025. But there’s a longtime group based at Lourdes University in Sylvania that’s been going about its mission in relative anonymity: S.A.V.E. – Science Alliance for Valuing the Environment. S.A.V.E. was founded on Aug. 10, 1990 by three women who “felt we needed to do something about saving our Earth,” said Sr. Rosine Sobczak, the remaining one of the three women and the S.A.V.E. coordinator.
